Event Information

The creative industry can be an intimidating—and often discouraging—field to break into for young designers. It takes hard work and commitment to make it through school. Once you do, it takes even more hard work and commitment to maneuver your career to the work that you actually want to do (and get paid for it).

Mikey Burton claims that, even after more than 12 years of experience as a professional designer and illustrator, he’s “still figuring it out.” Mikey spent more than half of those years balancing an advertising career with freelance work before he was finally able to branch out on his own full-time. His advice for creative survival? Stay focused on what you want to do and take a few well-planned leaps of faith in that direction.

Join Mikey Burton as he shares the story of how he came to be the wildly talented designy illustrator that he is today.
