The Creative Group is looking for a seasoned business-to-business copywriter with a knack for selling banking products, services and solutions to small and mid-size businesses in a fast-paced setting. Agency or corporate experience developing communications in digital media, video, and email is preferred. A strong familiarity with current trends and challenges in selling to businesses, not just in banking but across different industries is a definite plus. Your skills are part strategic and part visual but primarily focused on writing compelling prose and transforming a business strategy into a powerful idea. You’ll work in print, digital, mobile and social, with art directors, graphic designers, coders, animators and creative directors to turn business strategies into brilliant creative solutions that sell.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts/solutions for business checking accounts, merchant services, business credit cards and business lending within a rapidly changing, highly regulated environment.
  • Write compelling, effective copy and adhere to guidelines, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our voice, style and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with fellow creatives and account managers on campaign needs and creative considerations: think strategically, considering the customer experience and overall objectives.
  • Assist in presenting creative ideas and solutions to clients.
  • Advise clients on idea and campaign recommendations and issues.
  • Participate in project kickoffs, status meetings, and creative reviews, to stay aligned with the creative process and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Proactive, organized and detail-oriented work style
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently but also experienced at collaborating with art directors and others within a team environment
  • Handle multiple assignments concurrently and consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent presentation and negotiating skills
  • Commitment to the customer experience and a foundational familiarity with basic UX principles.

Job Requirements

  • An online portfolio is MANDATORY; you cannot be considered without one.
  • College degree in digital marketing, advertising, journalism, or a similar course of study. • Strong conceptual skills and experience with a wide array of media including print, video, digital, social, mobile, direct response and events/displays.
  • At least 5-10 years of professional marketing, advertising or content writing experience at an agency, financial institution or large corporation.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry with an understanding of the importance of risk and control (ie, pharmaceutical or healthcare if not financial) a plus.

  • Partner with external agencies to create content that supports campaign objectives.
  • Participate in project kickoffs, status meetings, and creative reviews, to stay aligned with the creative process and ensure adherence to timelines.
