The University seeks a full-time 12-month, Project Manager, for its Marketing Department on the main campus. The position reports to the Director of Creative Services and is available immediately, upon appointment of a successful candidate. The University pay grade for this position is “C”, with a starting rate of $12.78 an hour which may be adjusted based on qualifications and experience. A full complement of benefits are provided including a health care plan, retirement contributions and tuition assistance, each subject to associated waiting periods.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Oversee production management of 50-70 projects per month
  • Own the details on all marketing projects, including adherence to the department process and keep work moving in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain project records in Workamajig, the marketing department’s project management software
  • Work with all members of marketing team to monitor project workflow, and implement schedule adjustments, ensuring all project team members are aware of deadlines and priorities, and that each project is delivered within approved budget, schedule, and meets quality standards
  • Be the primary marketing department point of contact for all marketing projects
  • Contribute to weekly production meetings, focusing on specific weekly goals, following up with team members throughout the week
  • Manage project planning meetings and subsequent project reviews with internal teams to ensure that, from the moment of project inception, all involved parties are progressing toward the same project goals
  • Proactively engage in understanding the marketing strategy, and contribute to overall planning process
  • Work with campus departments to collect timely and accurate mailing lists to send to mail house
  • Assist in maintaining tactical plans, working with contacts to gather data for, coordinate, and track print and electronic pieces; proactively suggest alternate mail dates to alleviate potential conflicts
  • Keep documentation organized; assist in gathering and organizing campaign performance data and provide support to ensure project success
  • Negotiate and resolve conflict when necessary between project team members
  • Review, suggest, and implement process improvements to alleviate inefficiencies; track and report team accomplishments on a quarterly basis
  • Process monthly credit card expenditures for the department, including the collection of receipts and budget approvals from clients.
  • Other duties as assigned

Expectations for the successful candidate:

  • Evangelical Christian confession of faith
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 + years of agency (or similar) experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of production: print, web, online and social media and multimedia
  • Strong management experience, planning and tracking, managing project interdependencies, and managing both internal and external resources
  • Job estimating and budgeting skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow is essential
  • Instinctive problem solving and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage high project volume
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (PPT, Word, Excel) and a Project Management tracking system
