Turn Your Network Into A Community
With Anna Hetzel

Gateway Film Center

Who really likes networking?
Going to events. Slapping your moniker on a sticker. Rubbing elbows with people that you’re 98% likely to never follow up with.
Yeah, not many of us.
And yet we’re told to network network network!
A network is what will make or break your career!
Get out there!
So we do it, teeth clenched, armpits sweaty, and fingers crossed we won’t dump coffee on our shirt.
But networking generally gets you a handful of contacts you forget about and social media followers you rarely interact with.
Anna Hetzel (they/them), conversion copywriter and community designer, built their entire business by building community, not a network.
The subtle shift from contacts to relationships is what helped them double their corporate salary in their first year of freelancing, double their business in 2020 even during the pandemic, and get them to where they are today: chatting with you on the CSCA stage.
In this artist talk workshop, we’ll explore:

  • what community means to each of us
  • how to turn your static ‘network’ into a vibrant community
  • how to find your unique approach to relationship-building and then scale it

Join Anna on Thursday, August 19 at the Gateway Film Center.
