Reneé Seward is an Associate Professor of Communication Design at the University of Cincinnati, as well as Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at See Word Design.

Fascinated by the challenge of teaching young students with ADHD and dyslexia, Reneé began investigating the impact of design on learning disorders and its role in aiding comprehension. She soon began designing prototypes and testing them to review their effectiveness. Results showed improved spelling, phonological awareness, word identification, writing, and fluency.

Reneé’s learnings inspired her to found the award-winning innovation and technology company See Word Design, with two app-based offerings “See Words: School” and “See Words: Home” geared for early learners.

See Word Design recently launched its third product after a year of testing: “See Words: Anywhere.” A Google Chrome browser extension that allows for the dynamic transformation of letters into visual iconography, “See Words: Anywhere” has the potential to impact literacy across all age groups.

Don’t miss Reneé’s insights on the exciting fusion of design and technology to optimize communication and cognitive development.

Join CSCA on Thursday, May 21 for Reneé’s presentation, and visit see-words.com to view her work.
