We are currently seeking a bright, driven Communications & Marketing Intern for Spring 2020 (Starting January 2020 and working through May 2020). This position is located in Columbus, Ohio. The Communications & Marketing Intern plays a crucial role in executing our agency’s internal and external communications strategy by assisting with a variety of projects, including (but not limited to):

  • Email Marketing
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Content Creation
  • Graphic Design
  • Print Marketing
  • Website Management
  • Event Management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field
  • GPA at least 3.0 is preferred
  • Active interest in social networks and the digital space
  • Must be able to work 10-15 hour hours per week
  • Fluent in MS Office programs; Working knowledge of Adobe Suite
  • Technically savvy
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Possess detail-oriented and possess a sense of urgency
  • Possess high initiative and ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly motivated individual with a hands-on working style
  • Interest or knowledge of the education industry a plus

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Assist with content creation for website, email, blog and social media in the form of photos, videos, GIFs, copy, graphics
  • Assist in the brainstorming, capturing and creation of content for a variety of social media platforms, including photos, videos, and GIFs
  • Assist in the development of internal content
  • Analyze and review performance content; recommend future content based upon data analyses
  • Research trends and opportunities in education and social media to strengthen ESC’s social presence
  • Serve as a proofreader for all materials
  • Provide graphic design assistance for a variety of content, including social media posts, print, and other digital initiatives
  • Research competitors’ and partners’ to determine the best performing content
  • Help with website creation and management
  • Generate ideas for blogs; reach out to SMEs to interview; ghostwrite an article
  • Help create and implement internal guidelines, best practices, and processes
  • Research keywords
