The designer is responsible for taking direction from GPC Creative Directors and carrying projects from creative development to final completion. This position includes the process of visualizing and creating illustrations, logos, layouts, photos, and web. The Designer shapes the visual aspects of brands, print material, social graphics, and is responsible for managing projects and at times communicating with clients and contractors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Development:

  • Attend Creative Meetings as requested to develop creative proposals
  • Research digital market and contribute solutions for innovation and effectiveness
  • Strategize and coordinate a plan for web development execution

Design:

  • Create designs within the project requirements and specifications, while remaining within the project deadline and budget requirements
  • Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand, ensuring final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
  • Work with GPC Creative Director to produce final design, and make amendments to designs after feedback, and test graphics across various media

Web:

  • Manage and build websites according to development plan, including wireframes, strategic layout and aesthetics
  • Meet with clients to review website drafts and/or refine their designs
  • Run tests to preview layouts and website features, fix functionality issues or immediate design flaws that arise
  • Assist in management of company’s website portfolio

SKILLS + PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to remain organized while managing several projects simultaneously
  • Very creative and innovative mindset and workflow
  • Proven ability in graphic design and visual media for web and print
  • Team player with a consistent positive attitude
  • Ability to recognize needs and implement solutions with little oversight; self-motivated
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Suite, Wix website and comparable software
  • Understanding of UX/UI (user experience/user interface) design and SEO (search engine optimization)

EXPECTATIONS AND COMPENSATION

  • This position is expected to constitute one full-time position, with the availability to work approximately 40 hours per week
