Nonfiction is looking for an entrepreneurial, organized, and driven full-time designer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of branding and what it can do for our clients, passion for design (and the details), and a particularly keen set of skills in marrying brand design and digital experiences. The typical candidate has around 3 years of professional experience, but that’s a guide and not a requirement. If you feel you’d be a good fit, we encourage you to apply.

As a designer on our team, you’ll be part of a close-knit, focused, and playful team working on design and branding projects for a diverse client base. Your primary responsibility will be designing brand systems, but developing user experience and user interface design for digital projects will be a big part of it, too. In this role, you’ll report to the partners and work closely with the Nonfiction senior design team. Nonfiction is a small studio, and each team member plays a critical role in creating simple, smart, and sustainable work for our clients.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Generate and deliver tangible, impactful ideas that move our clients’ brands forward
  • Lead digital design projects (mostly websites) but get hands-on designing brand identity systems
  • Bring strong expertise of digital creative processes, technologies, and best practices
  • Have ownership of your own work, in addition to work reviewed by the senior team
  • Carry the studio’s work forward into executional and tactical applications
  • Present concepts and designs at internal check-ins and client presentations
  • Give and receive constructive critiques with clients and teammates
  • Prep files for production or development based on project specifications
  • Keep partners and project manager up to date on projects owned by you
  • Work in collaboration with copywriters, photographers, developers
  • Maintaining consistency across client projects

Ideally, you can demonstrate:

  • Passion for design and curiosity about everything
  • The keen ability to marry strategic decisions with creative approaches
  • Organization and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proactiveness, with self-motivation and an entrepreneurial outlook for both client projects and Nonfiction’s business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Meticulousness about typography and layout, with attention to detail
  • Humility and the ability to check your ego at the door
  • Level-headedness and positivity under pressure

This is a client-facing role. You’ll be the point person on all things creative with clients. Nonfiction is a small studio, and each team member plays a critical role in creating simple, smart, and sustainable work for our clients.
