They Draw

Sitting around their kitchen during a family vacation, sibling duo Nate Padavick and Salli Swindell decided to illustrate the food around them. This activity inspired them to create They Draw & Cook, an online creative community dedicated to food illustration and appreciation. They Draw & Cook expanded into travel and garden categories, eventually becoming THEY DRAW.

Nate and Salli’s online pursuits have grown to include THEY DRAW, Illustrators for Hire, and The Illustrator’s Circle. Their online initiatives have reached artists worldwide, showcasing work and fostering community among creatives.

In their talk From Fresh Figs to Creative Community, Nate and Salli will discuss working as an artistic sibling duo and advocates for illustration. By reflecting on their own experience of “creative community,” they will explore how collaborative environments have shaped their development as creators and illustrators.
