Event Information
Save the date for our July speaker, Maya Bird-Murphy.
Gateway Film Center
This will be your chance to learn from Maya Bird-Murphy, founder and executive director of Chicago Mobile Makers. And trust us, this is one chance you don’t want to miss.
What could you learn from her? True innovation & community engagement. How to become a successful entrepreneur who makes a weighty impact on communities. Her ingenuity may help you develop some new ideas of your own! You’ll arrive curious; you’ll leave informed and inspired.
What is she making exactly? An educational foundation for future designers and architects. A chance for them to learn critical skills and gain inspiration to forge ahead.
How does she do it? Driving a repurposed UPS truck transformed into a traveling lab, Maya arrives in various underserved communities. She presents workshops to teach the local youth, ages 8 to 18. Her lessons include design thinking, programming, & construction.
Years from now, numerous successful designers & architects will look back on her with gratitude. And after this event, so will you. Don’t miss out.
