Far East Meets Midwest

Join us for a special event on August 2 as CSCA welcomes special guest Michael Lai.

Many of you know Michael Lai as a former designer at Ologie and past CSCA president.
What you may not know is, in 2009, Mike left the comfortable confines of Columbus to pursue a Master’s in Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he focused primarily on interaction design.
To say Mike had success in Hong Kong would be an understatement; upon completing his degree, HK Polytechnic quickly asked him to stay and teach. The result? Many of his students have gone on to join the most influential companies in China, including Microsoft, Tencent, Lenovo, and others. Mike has also consulted with a range of companies, lectured and conducted workshops at conferences, and helped develop the regional design community.

This is Mike’s first visit back to Columbus, and he will share his experiences and thoughts on the rapidly changing state of design in China and Asia. Join us for this special event — reconnect with a longtime friend of CSCA, and discover the design trends from the other side of our planet. His presentation should be special. Don’t miss it.
