Event Information
Let’s get lucky.
Renowned illustrator, designer, author, and educator Tad Carpenter comes to us from Kansas City, Missouri where he co-runs the design and branding studio, Carpenter Collective, with his wife, Jessica. He’s built a strong reputation for everything from packaging, brand identity and national campaigns in the retail design realm to the world of children’s books.
One of the creative constants in his life—going all the way back to early childhood—is illustration. And with two artists as parents, Tad came by it naturally. Working for an agency early on gave him a solid professional footing. But never afraid of a good risk, it wasn’t long before he struck out on his own. In his own words: “If you just sit back and play it safe all the time, your work’s going to be pretty vanilla and your life might be as well.”
Join us Thursday, January 18 as Tad shares how he went from a solo designer to co-owning a design studio and the importance of taking risks to grow your luck.
