Welcome to the first date of our Artist Date Series!
As creatives, it’s so important to seek out inspiration.
To take the pressure off of doing something for work and create something for fun.
Even if it’s a terrible pencil sketch or a terrifically bad poem you’d share with absolutely no one!
Those creative moments are freeing.
They open up spaces for new ideas.
They remind us why we do the work we do in the first place.
Typically with The Morning Society, we meet once a month at Wild Goose Creative to dive deep into a topic together.
Not in June and December!
In June and December, we go on dates, artist dates.
We’re meeting at the Park of Roses (Whetstone Park) in Clintonville this June.
Bring your sketchpad / camera / journal / picnic blanket / yoga mat / instrument / meditation block / [insert whatever you want to bring here].
Anna Hetzel will gather us together at the beginning to kick off the date and offer creative prompts to those who’d like them.
Then we scatter, smell the roses, find a patch of park by ourselves, and create.
We’ll circle up at the end to share a bit about our experiences (not our work, unless you really want to!) and continue with our days.
Tickets for the Artist Date Series are free.
Please register so we can notify you of where we’ll be meeting, instructions on how to find us, and if we need to cancel due to weather.
Coffee will NOT be provided at this event, so bring your own caffeine kick.
***a note on accessibility – the Park of Roses is technically accessible via wheelchair, but it’s a steep ramp uphill. Most paths are paved and there are a few benches around the park. There are porta-johns available, no running water.
Here’s the agenda for our date:
- 10:30 AM – arrive and gather at the shelter house
- 10:45 AM – event kick-off and prompts are handed out
- 10:50-11:45 AM – find your spot of park and create!
- 11:45 AM – gather back at the shelter house to share our experiences
- 12 PM – Bye bye and have a great rest of your Wednesday
